Man-yo line is 12.8km interurban tramway. Man-yo line was operated by private company "加越能鉄道(Kaetsuno railway)". Due to lack of income, abandonment plan was discussed in 1990s. Traffic density is fewest(about 1200 passenger-kilometers per kilometers) in Japanese trams.
At 2001, Man-yo line was transferred to a joint venture company of local government and private capitals. Local government supports Manyo-line. Name of the company is "万葉線(Man-yo line)". It's same as name of line.
Man-yo line trams runs in various situation - Man-yo line train starts from commercial district of Takaoka city, runs into heavy industrial area, runs along narrow road with single track, terminate at just side of ferry port.

Type de7070 was introduced in 1967. "De" means 電動車(Dendo-sha; motor car). De7070 and cars of same types(de7000 and de7060) were majority in this line. However its were mostly replaced by type MLRV1000 (ADtranz / Niigata-transys GT4K-ZR) since 2003.
