Keihan Electric Railway's Keishin line is the light rail with on-street running section and through service to subway. Keishin line trains connect downtown of Kyoto city and Otsu city(Otsu is a satellite city of Kyoto).
The Keishin line trains have three faces. One of faces is tram - There is short on-street running section near Hama-Otsu terminal. One of faces is mountain railway - There are 60‰ gradient and 60m radius curve near Otani station. One of faces is subway - Since 1997, through service to subway of Kyoto City Transport Bureau was started. The Keishin line is a unique light rail in Japan.
Series800 Keishin line, Hama-otsu -> Kyoto shiyakusho-mae(Kyoto city hall)
Series800 is 4-car sets with IGBT-inverter control. It was made in 1997 for the through service to subway.
