Hong Kong is the unique city. There are many skyscrapers in narrow land. Due to high population dencity, public transport network is great and privte car ownership is very few. 90% of citizens uses public transport when going out.
In Hong Kong, there are two tram network. One is tramway in Hong Kong Island with double-deck cars. It's one of most famous tramways in the world. Another one is LRT in the new town at western Hong Kong. LRT tracks were planned with urban planning. LRT runs most district of new town, runs not only on broad streets but also on narrow ways, on elevated tracks and under a buildings. Two tramways forms the part of great public transport network.
On the other hand, metro, surburban rail, and bus services are provided in all over Hong Kong. Especially, bus network is extended to anywhere. Operation frequency of all public transport is short. In Hong Kong, all passengers can move to all district by public transport with nice service.
No.1064, Line615P Tuen Mun Ferry Pier -> Siu Hong
No.1047 is the first generation of LRT rolling stock. First generation cars were made in 1988 by Comeng in Australia. The cars has GTO-thyristor chopper control system. All LRT cars are 20m long(nevertheless it's not articulated car), single-deck. It has stainless-steel body with powerfull air-conditioner. LRT roling stock is so different from double-deck tram in downtown.
Type MLR, East Rail Line Lok Ma Chau -> Hung Hom
East rail line connects from dowontown to border of Hong Kong and China mainland. As of 2009, this line was operated by type MLR and SP1900. Type MLR is first generation EMU for commuter train service, made in 1980-1989 by British "Metro Cammell". Type MLR has nose-suspention drive. As of 1980s, it's not strange in Europe. But it's strange as an Asian EMU.
